Welcome to my web-page!
Since November 2015 I work as a Post-doctoral Researcher at the Centre for Language and Speech Technology (CLST), Faculty of Arts of Radboud University in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. I work on the Horizon 2020 FutureTDM project.
In 2014, I obtained my Ph.D. at the School of Computing, Dublin City University, Ireland where I explored the ways to effectively improve spoken document retrieval, as well as the different aspects of data set creations and results evaluation. My thesis was done under the supervision of Dr. Gareth J.F. Jones, and my PhD was funded by the Science Foundation Ireland as part of the project "Improving Indexing for Search of Spontaneous Conversational Speech". While working in Ireland, I've been affiliated with the CNGL Centre for Global Intelligent Content (CNGL), the CDVP Centre for Digital Video Processing (CDVP), and I was a member of the National Centre for Language Technology (NCLT) in Dublin City University.
My research interests are in the area of multimedia processing, spoken language understanding, information retrieval, integration of NLP techniques with spoken content retrieval, crowdsourcing, video hyperlinking, data mining, social media, machine learning.
Since 2010 I am highly interested in running the benchmarking evaluation campaigns for multimedia related tasks where we explore how users can browse and discover intersting material within multimedia archives using both audio and visual features of the data.
